1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Give your child a bright start!

Discover fun ways to build literacy skills, read together, and nurture a lifelong love of books with 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, a FREE early literacy program for children ages 0-5.

Why?

Reading together builds closeness and early literacy skills, which are the foundations for school success. You don’t need to read dozens of new books every day. Repeating favorite books counts, too! And whether a parent, sibling, grandparent, or caregiver does the reading, every moment matters.

Small, consistent moments add up—and we’ve made it simple to track your progress along the way.
           * One bedtime story a night for 3 years = 1,095 books!
           * Just 3 books a day for 1 year = 1,095 books!
